Hi, a few days before christmas, the oil light started erraticly to flick on & off while idle at stop lights... sometimes it will do it and sometimes it will not but always whenever the RPM's where ~<750. I have checked the oil level & it is fine... I can't see any leaks! Since I was with the rush of christmas time and the light was not always on, I ignored it until a better time... January! For the past two weeks, I have use the car for about 10-15 miles/day and the light has gradually being more "ON" and at higher RPM's. Today, the light started to be ON sometimes at 750 RPM's and sometimes even at ~1200 RPM's but never while the accelerator is depressed... On another note, the light never comes ON during the first trip of the day (~5 miles). Now that christmas & new year's time is over, I am plannig to have the car checked & repaired next week. I am writing to you guys to see if you all have any ideas before the mechanic tells me that he has to "replace the whole engine" ... I want to be a little more knowledgeable & perhaps I can do the repair....
