Check the oil pressure warning light sending unit first. They have a habit of doing just what you describe. If your oil pressure is REALLY zero, you'll get noise from the valve train. Best way is to remove the sending unit and temporarily install a mechanical oil pressure gauge to verify oil pressure. I believe the specified pressure at idle is about 5 psi. But the sending unit is pretty cheap and I usually don't bother with the gauge, just take out the old sending unit and screw in a new one. That's if the engine doesn't have clattering valves that would suggest it REALLY has zero oil pressure...in which case it shouldn't be run til it's fixed, anyway. -GP ------------------------ Yahoo!
