On a 97 with either the 3.3L or the 3.5L engine, it is on the engine
block just forward of the oil filter. The wire going to it is supposed
to be grey, with either engine. Sometimes, however, you'll find that
the vendor ran out of grey wire, substituted some other color, and put a
tag on it that says "20GY". This can happen anyplace in a wiring
harness, with the tag corresponding to whatever the wire was SUPPOSED to
be.

Naturally, Murphy's Law of Automotive Repair mandates that by the time
you get to that particular area, the tag will have fallen off.

It is a common part that most good auto parts stores should have. You
may be able to get it off with a regular socket, but a special socket
should be used to install it because if you try using a regular one, you
can crack the seal between the stamped outer housing and the plastic
body of the sensor, and this will cause a leak.

This sensor feeds the instrument panel oil pressure warning lamp only.
It is completely independent of the powertrain control module (engine
computer).
