What I know as a professional programmer and amateur mechanic is that whenever you increase the number of components and/or the complexity of the software, you introduce more potential points of failure. Increase both, and you're talking about a vehicle which will doubtless give more problems and unexpected costs over its lifetime than the average gasoline-powered vehicle.
Give me a good, relatively simple, gasoline-engined powered vehicle of proven design over a hybrid/electric vehicle with questionable fuel economy and pollution benefits, more complex and expensive hardware, and a higher price at the outset. Please. There will be no hybrid vehicles in my personal future...ever. If it ever comes down to it, I'll be reviving Intrepids and the like from the junkyards instead. I'm not crazy about hydrogen, either, although if we put up the nuclear power plants required to produce it efficiently and inexpensively, I might consider it. --Geoff On 7/19/05, ricep55 <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > It's probably the best strategy (emphasize performance) over the economy. > > I have inquired on the Highlander Hybrid, which is a clone of the > Lexus Rx440h.
