Motor Oil 5w-30 VS 20w-50 in 80 Plus degree weather The manuals say to use 5w-30 oil but checking the Motor Oil Bible, thats great for colder weather, I live in the Inland Empire of California, almost desert, where it can reach over 100 degrees F. daily.
Since I had my 03 ES or SE 2.7 Intrepid I have been using 10w-30 or 10W- 40, Valvoline Durablend,...got about 280 to 300 miles per tank full (91octane) I went to Firestone got an oil change they put 5w-30 semisynthetic oil in and now I can feel a loss of H-power and started getting about 200 to 230 miles on a full tank....whats the Deal? should I go back to a thicker oil?
