I've never installed a heater as it doesn't get cold enough in Maryland to warrant such a thing. But I have flushed the system enough times to know there is not valve stopping the flow of coolant when the engine is off. I really fail to see the usefulness of such a valve. But if you pull that lower rad hose all the coolant in the rad and engine will come pouring out.
I would probably hit up the shop manual and get the OEM block heater if it were me. That or run 70/30 mix. Mike ------------------------ Yahoo!
