Thanks.  Now that I have light I will check, I'm crossing my fingers this is

  Both, but the fuses that control the computer, etc, are in the engine 
  compartment, driver's side, by the strut tower.

  There's a map of which is which on the inside of the cover. The ECM should be 
  pretty close to the middle, but that doesn't matter so much -- just look at 
  all of them; if you see a burnt out one, you get to replace it. :)

  (Just as a side note -- there are usually a fuse or two in there that are 
  spare -- they're blank on the cover 'map' and only have one contact on the 
  fuse panel if you pull them out -- these come in handy. If you don't have a 
  spare available and you're somewhere remote, I often find the "least" 
  dangerous to pull -- if it's daytime, you can pull the taillights one and use 
  that, etc.)
