nope still bad, must depend on where ya live, alot more older gm out here and
hardly any older chryslers but with todays society, cars are not maintained and
all go bad so there really is no way to tell. what is better. i have had both
and both have there problems. if ya dont want to worry about costly repairs,
buy new but then ya have a payment every month so ya still lose. i buy an older
car with low miles for myself and if it breaks down, i fix it. the wife drives
new but her car cost more to have than my old intrepid. all i can say is you
dont know how any car was driven, maybe the dodge was owned by 3 different 16
year old kids that never changed the oil and the gm was properly maintained and
not driven hard. you just never can tell.

The problem is that you and I are sharing anecdotes, rather than performing
a statistical study. If we had access to the manufacturer warranty data, we
would be able to make a decent comparison.

I think about the best comparison we can make is between older vehicles. I
still see a lot of AA-bodies (Plymouth Acclaim, Dodge Spirit, Chrysler
LeBaron) and AC-bodies (Dodge Dynasty, Chrysler New Yorker) out on the
roads. Since none of these are fewer than 11 model years old (AA) or 14
(AC) you can guess something about how well their drivetrains were put
together (in this case, the 2.5L/A413, the 3.0L/A604 the 3.3L/A604 and the
3.8L/A604). By comparison, I see very few N-body GM products from that same
era around. I think a lot of those got the Quad-4; not 100% certain about
that, but whatever it was, a lot of 'em wore out sooner than the competing
Chrysler products.
