  1. Which engine? If it's the 3.2 or the 3.5 the cam sensor isn't too bad of
  a job if you're willing to take the upper portion of the intake manifold
  off. If that sounds like more than you're bargaining for, you are probably
  going to spend a few hundred gettin it replaced. IIRC the sensor wasn't too
  expensive; maybe about $50 or so. Unfortunately, the part is right in plain
  sight but there isn't enough clearance to just remove it without loosening
  the plastic intake. The air around me turned a little bluer when I realized
  that.

  2. Change oil/filter brands at will. No worries. No harm will come to your
  engine.
