OOOHHH. That's the Dimona with the Dodgy Undercarriage. Least that is as I recall. Extensive repairs by the Thai's not to be trusted. Repairing the UC requires a lot of thought to start with to ensure it is sound. Not a Standard Repair Scheme but much much more. What I saw of that repair was very worrying. Far less than average in a high stress area. That is if I am right, and it is the last Dimona to be sold. I inspected it when we bought our 3 and I ruled that one out straight up for the repair. I am glad I did for what I know now.
Yep he's on the list but he could have done it himself. Just give people this link http://waikeriegliding.com/dog/ and they can do it easily themselves. Ian welcome to the list. You can check how it works at the URL above. The archives (recently added) are here http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ If you have any queries relating to the maintenance and operation of a H36 or HK36 Dimona you can just put a question out on the list. There is a lot of experience amongst us on airframes and engines. Cheers. Happened 25 - 30 years ago I seem to remember. When I tow behind a Pawnee and the thick wit tow piolot has side window open I go into high tow and watch like an eagle as the window bounces up and down. It is clearly in flight manual as it must not be flown with window open Ian ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Ian Williams <[email protected]> Date: 2009/2/9 Subject: Dimona To: Ian Mc Phee <[email protected]> Hi Ian, Good news .... I have got the job of resurrecting the Dimona H36 which arrived in NZ a few years ago (the only one in NZ) from Oz. How about that. .... will be leaving Auckland later this week to go the Greymouth (West Coast South Island)to pick it up (about 2000 Km all up) ... assuming it will fit on a PW-6 trailer. Best regards Ian Willians
