Mag comes out very easily without removing the engine - about a 40min job
taking care. Modification of a 6mm (?) - long handle alen key is required to
make it very easy and take off the RH air filter along with throttle and
choke assembly rods and bob's your uncle. Have taken ours out 3 times now
with no real difficulty. I sent ours to Ian at Aviation Intrument and
Electrical Services, Building 2, Second St, Moorabin Airport, Mentone, VIC,
3194 - 03 95871652.

There have been a couple questions asked about dual ignition - we have a
dual ignition setup which is merely a back up and I think it cannot be
certified as it is an automotive unit and I am not sure you can retard the
spark like an impulse coupling on a mag for startup - hence mag still
required? (Dimona expert needed here to confirm). Also people want to drill
new holes in the head and we will have a spare head off our old engine that
we will send to Nigel Baker and people could use as a template.

Our engine had the exhaust valve head fall off in cylinder 4 and upon
landing cylinder 4 was not in the engine! Hence we are buying a new engine
and have a spare head with no pot.

Cheers,

Will
