Well yes Will.
However there are other issues.
Yes it left Tassie against my advise and without an EO for the ignition mod. He
just went without my knowledge with a freshly signed F2 and there is another
story to that person come 2 months later.
After it left Tassie and your care it came to the mainland and was parked at an
airfield without tie downs and seems the brakes failed or were never set.
In strong winds it rolled backwards into a hanger.
The newly designed rudder was then repaired with Gaffer Tape and the aircraft
was then flown to Burketown for the MG.
It returned to points lower an further east in QLD where it sat covered in
tarps in the open.
The owner was advised it was not legal until an EO was raised for the dual
ignition mod. He had the data to do this provided by me and did nothing about
it.
He then flew it to Byron Bay where it resides now.

Macca this thing should not go back in the air until ALL the AW issues are
addressed. Tell him to crash into a few more Byron Bay Gliding Club structures
and pay for them until it passes muster. IT DOES NOT MEET CURRENT AIRWORTHINESS
REQUIREMENTS. Don’t let him ask you to discount what has to be done. Just say
NO.
Make sure it meets all the requirements.
It’s on your neck not mine.
Nige.

WVW had the tail knocked off in 2005 and repaired by Joe in the Wimmera. Worth
having a chat as it isn't the original entry. I don't think I have any more
paper work for her. What has happened about the dual ignition?

Can't explain what has been done with your log book entries but I have found
that the Dimona rudders vary considerably in weight (around 1+ kg).
I suspect usual story....lots of filler used in some to smooth out wavy glass
layup
One I dealt with couldn't have a standard tail light fitted as it would put
the mass balance out of spec.

Been going thru logbook of WVW and notice Harry Basch recorded the mass
balance in log book when was put into service I Australia. What is in log
book is out of spec as in Maintaince manual and am now wondering if others are
our on spec. This is ex Thai airforce.

It has been flying for 10 years. A bit strange.
