Hi Jarek. I understand your problem.
You must have a form 1 without question. Metric hose is not the industry standard so no traceable record system for a form 1. 6mm is not suitable for use on ¼” hose tails as it overloads the reinforcing fabric. ¼” equates to 6.4MM. Limbach sell this hose but they round it to 6.5mm I don’t know why. The banjo fittings are 14mm with a standard ¼” hose tail. All the hose tail fittings are ¼”. So there should not be a problem with him using the standard hose and issuing a form 1. Replacement hose is available from Diamond Aircraft. It is ¼” gates fuel hose and meets the requirement for the form 1. Diamond will issue a certificate of conformance with the hose. I think your guy has misread what he sees in the photo. There should be no issues for him doing the hose change. Cheers. Nige. One way is Areoquip FC332-4 Blue hose and add orange fire sleeving from aircraft spruce. Another alternative is go - 4 Teflon braided hoses with AN fittings again I add fire sleeve and it is good for life of engine. . Be real careful if you have a copper hose from tap forward and goes at right angle just behind muffler. That copper tube and olive may decide nit to seal. The latter h36 have done away with stupid olive fitting and have a fire wall AN fitting top RH side of firewall. An fittings can be undone and done up 100 times and as always seal. Every GA aircraft USE ONLY AN fittings as does the world racing car industry. I am looking for someone who can make the new ones and who can issue the required FORM 1 certificate (under EASA). I found one repair shop, sent the pictures and hit the wall, because the mechanic there said that my hoses are metric, while he can only issue the FORM 1 certificate for standard. As I understand what is at issue is the type of bolt thread. Could anyone shed some light on this? How come the British manufacturer used metric threads in their product? Regards Jarek
