Hi Kristen. Hope Tom is behaving himself.
The crankcase is a mandatory replacement item at TBO for the L2000 and the L1700 but not the L2400. I have brought many cases into OZ for that reason. The 2 halves of the case are assembled and bolted tight then machined so that is to say match machined. Each case has its halves numbered in production to keep track of the pairs when separated. Thus the halves are not available individually. They should contact Gerlinde Limbach at the factory [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> for a quote. They must supply the serial number of the engine to identify the case revision. I think China is doing the research work on upgrades to the 2 strokes ( I don’t deal in them) but certainly the certified 4 strokes are still produced in Germany under EASA certification. Hope that is of help. Cheers. Nige. I have retired from all GFA airworthiness responsibility’s and will now focus on our own fleet. The insurance for Limbach sales has doubled and I have no chance paying it ongoing from the meagre profit made on trade. So I am closing up that shop as of the end of June just before the renewal is due. I presently have good stocks of spark plugs and exhaust pipe gasket ring assemblies along with other assorted spares including 2 new L2000 cylinder heads with the latest head castings. Let me know if there is anything you may need. Cheers. Nige.
