1. As Mike says, disassemble the filter after releasing the hose clamp and
pulling the filter housing off of the carburetor. Be careful not to drop
any hardware into the accessory case😐.
2. Sounds like trouble.😕. However, once you cut your access holes (
approximately 10 cm ) through the seats  and the floors ( nonstructu ral ),
changing the rod ends is straight forward. Note that the torque on the MLG
fastening clamp nuts is 20 NM, not as high as standard for a nut of this
size ( source for this spec was a scribble on the side of a blueprint from
Diamond ). I can't imagine why your rod end would turn more than a little
unless the bolt which fixes it is broken - it is hardened steel and may
have fractured ? Have a good look at the laminate which covers the rod end
assembly, as it must have been stressed too. Call me if you need drawings
or photos. 207 703 9887. Fear not.
3. I don't like mogas, especially if you have been running 100 LL
exclusively- it seems to cause fouled plugs, perhaps because it is solving
off the lead buildup.

Hopefully the men from down under will chime in...they are more experienced
than I.
