afternoon all
i had my altimeter out for repair recently and i thought while i was at it i
would get the vario zeroed at the same time (it has always read about three
quarters of a knot in lift even sitting in the hanger) i had a friend
reinstall the vario. however i noted that the vario was a bit 'laggy'. on
inspection i noted that my friend had connected the static that was on the
altimeter to the vario. when i reconnected the other static line to the vario
it appeared to function the way i remembered it.
does anyone know if there is a fixed orifice (restriction) in one of these
static lines or do i need to investigate further for wasp nests etc. And
further to, if one line is supposed to have a restriction in it, which
instrument does it go to.
