when I wake up! If it's older than three years it's

I agree.  People seem reluctant to take the time to do anything other  
than "reply all" and top post.  It makes it hard to understand.

I always try to snip out the exact part I'm replying to (like I've  
done here) to make it easier to follow.  Forum threads are definitely  
easier to make sense of than reconstructing a thread from previous  
emails in the archive.
