I had heard several GREAT songs on the radio but hadn't really paid
much attention to who performed them. Then I went to see a concert in
St Paul, MN in 1974. The show opened with a brand new and as yet little
heard of band named "Kansas". They were GREAT in their first of several
appearances in Minnesota. Next came the Doobie Brothers! I was VERY
pleased to find out that all those great songs I had been hearing were
Doobie songs. Finally the headliners were "Chicago". I went to the
concert because I was a huge Chicago fan, but left as an even bigger
Doobie Brothers fan...and have been ever since!

Hey List Type People,
What circumstance in general or otherwise first turned you on to the
band
and/or gave the incentive to become a lifelong fan? For me, as a
sophomore
in HS, it was the FIRST time I heard Listen To The Music in 1972 . From
that
moment on I knew I was hooked and have remained throughout every phase.
Later,
Steve
