Hey group,

Kerry's note made me recall when McD. first joined the band.  I was already a fan from his work with Steely Dan.  I thought he was a good fit in the Doobs.  But, it wasn't the same band without Tom.  I remember spinning Taking it to the Streets, Faultin Line & Minute by Minute LP covers, looking for a song or songs from Tom.  My buddies used to kid me, that I was listening to the Old McDonald Band.  But I remained a true fan, through all the changes.  And still love both directions of the band.

I remember myself hearing "The Doctor" for the first time on the radio.  I had the shivers.  I was cruising down Rt 84 driving to Boston with the top down and the radio cranked to the max.  I was so excited the origonal sound was back.  I was screaming Yeah!

It would be cool to see Tom, Pat, and Michael share some lead vocals on a new tune in the future.(as well as the other guys.)  I'm thinking a Tom/Michael colaboration sounds very cool.

Thinking back to how long I've followed this band.  It blows my mind.  I just couldn't think of a world with no new Doobies music.  Their tunes make me feel great.  Just keep making those great tunes guys.

While I'm not a major contributor to the list.  I find a lot of very nice people here.  When I joined a few years ago, I thought I new a lot about the band.  But, I find out a little bit more each day.

Hey everyone,
When I was watching the VH-1 program, they talked about "The Doctor" and
some other songs summing up where the Doobie Brothers have been. I can
relate to "The Doctor" and understand what that song means.
When Tommy left and Michael McDonald stepped in, the songs they wrote
were great songs, but to me, it was not the Doobie Brother sound. I can
remember driving home from work listening to a radio station here in
Dallas when they annouced they were going to play the new song, "The
Doctor". I sat in my driveway and just the first couple of measures told
me the old Doobies were back.
I have been playing guitar since 1971. For years it was something fun to
do. But because of events in my life over the past two years, the fun
has turned into a passion, a release. People I know have even told me
they can tell a difference when I play now. I rely on a greater source
to doctor my soul, but plaiyng music is a big part of it.
Thanks to the Doobie Brothers for being open and honest about there
lives on the show and for writing "The Doctor".
Kerry
