I was working at a place that overhauled Navy aircraft, and on the morning that FM99 first played The Doctor, I was up in the tail avionics bay of an A6. It's pretty cramped in there, full of black boxes, and wires, and brackets, and pipes and stuff.
The two mechanics I was working with had their toolboxes right at the bottom of the ladder, and had their radios cranked up on FM99. All of a sudden I hear Mike Arlo say, something about new Doobie Brothers, and then I hear that unmistakeable sound of TJ's axe.
Well I jumped up to let out a whoop of joy, and bashed my head on a bunch of brackets and pushrods, and other airplane parts, and darned near fell out of the thing onto the concrete floor, ten feet below. The I woulda REALLY needed a doctor.
Well the Aviation Depot has been closed for 5 years now, and I had to move on. Thank goodness the Brothers are still goin' strong though!
