Hey everyone,
When I was watching the VH-1 program, they talked about "The Doctor" and
some other songs summing up where the Doobie Brothers have been. I can
relate to "The Doctor" and understand what that song means.
When Tommy left and Michael McDonald stepped in, the songs they wrote
were great songs, but to me, it was not the Doobie Brother sound. I can
remember driving home from work listening to a radio station here in
Dallas when they annouced they were going to play the new song, "The
Doctor". I sat in my driveway and just the first couple of measures told
me the old Doobies were back.
I have been playing guitar since 1971. For years it was something fun to
do. But because of events in my life over the past two years, the fun
has turned into a passion, a release. People I know have even told me
they can tell a difference when I play now. I rely on a greater source
to doctor my soul, but plaiyng music is a big part of it.
Thanks to the Doobie Brothers for being open and honest about there
lives on the show and for writing "The Doctor".
Kerry
