Sorry this is late, I went road trippin to Toronto the last 5 days. Cool
Town! I saw nothing of the Doobs @ the Toronto Hard Rock, and after
reading the RRHO shame posts, I am officially boycotting the place when I go
to Cleveland later in the year. Also: A big welcome to the newest members
of the club.

DonBro here in Saginaw, MI.
I joined the list this past October
42 years old this past January, 21st
Divorced for 12 years.
I have a 17 year old son who lives w/his mom and step family nearby and I am
happy to say we all get along great despite the broken family. I like all
sports and used to play lots of basketball and was a distance runner until 3
knee surgeries slowed me down. I was very impressed with Laurin's running
accomplishments, too bad it ended the way it did.
I graduated from the photography program at the Art Institute of Fort
Lauderdale in 1981
I have been employed in the Photography industry for 20 years. My specialty
has been custom photo finishing for the working photogs in this region. I
have worked for a fortune 500 company and two ad agencies and been downsized
twice.
I am currently not employed full time, but I am a part time freelance
photographer and supplement my income with wedding photography, special
events, corporate parties, local photojournalism and a bunch of other misc.
projects. I also help produce a local TV show on a part time basis at our
CBS affiliate WNEM-5. For the past four years I have photographed NFL
football for a local paper at all the Detroit home games and traing camp.

My music interests are quite diverse.
I have 2 older brothers (10 and 14 years older). This is where my major
music influence comes from. When I was 5 my father bought the family a
stereo for Christmas (1964). And my brother got the first Beatles album. My
mom got Dean Martin albums, and my dad got a package of music in the deal.
And I like it all still to this day. A road trip into the North Country may
start out with Nat King Cole and wind down with Lee Ritenour, With lots of
rockin sandwiched in between (Mostly Doobs). I have a complete set of Doobie
CDs that never leave my car.
I am a big fan of jazz and blues. I like to go to the Chicago Blues Fest. A
close personal friend of mine is Larry Mccray. He has performed with BB
King, The Alman Brothers, Robert Cray, and Dicky Betts among many others. If
anyone would like to know more about Larry, contact me off the list.

I remember hearing the early Doobie hits on the radio, especially "Black
Water," but I really became a fan when I heard "The Captain" at a house
party in the spring of 76. I bought the album the next day. I have bought
the rest many times over in different formats. While recovering from my
first knee surgery, I fell asleep with the Ukiah side of the album on the
turntable. It played all night. I think this is why Ukiah is my all time
fav. Named my Golden Retriever, Ukiah.

I tend to do things on the spur of the moment and in 1978 my best friend and
I hitch hiked west towards Frisco and ended up in Jackson Hole, Wyoming,
working in Grand Teton National Park for the season. Still my favorite place
so far.
I had tickets to my first Doobies concert that summer and gave them to a
friend so they would be used. To my surprise when I returned from the Tetons
that fall, the Doobs had booked a show at our home town arena here in
Saginaw. It was October or November, just before M by M was to be released.
I remember them playing Steamer Lane Breakdown "from our forthcoming album."
Skunk and Mac were on this tour, but I can't remember for sure if TJ was.
Thin Lizzy was the opening band. I was in a daze and not believing they were
at our small 7,000 seat arena. I remember listening to all the albums that
afternoon before going to the show. I took some great photos at this show.
Especially some of Skunk jammin away on his stool. They were all lost in our
big flood of 86. Along with all my concert photos from the days when they
used to let you bring in cameras. Some great shots of Clapton too.

So I have seen the band 23 times and plan on at least 2 shows this summer
here in Michigan. I would love to attend the California gigs but wouldn't be
able to commit till just before then. I hope to meet some of you at some
shows soon and meet the band for the first time.
Keep on Doobin
DonBro
