I second Jerry's recommendation of syringe dispense.  You can get
incredibly well controlled volume and positioning with a pneumatic
dispenser, I've done a fair number of 01005 passives (itty bitty, stack 36
of them on top of an 0603) that way, dispensing dots on the order of 0.005"
or ~500 picoliters.  There was one for $25 at the Tek surplus store last
time I was there; it's really not much more than a pneumatic valve,
pressure regulator, timer and foot pedal.  For QFN, hand dispense with a
syringe would probably work fine too.  For reflow, hot air or hot plate.
I've used a Madell 850D hot air gun for years, works great on small jobs
like this.  Hakko makes a number of models too, as do any number of other
Chinese vendors.
