I was an applications engineer for Avnera for 3-1/2 years, and yes, their
chips are quite good. They have a few different product lines that support
anywhere from 16b/48k stereo to 8 channels at 24b/96k. They've gone to
great lengths to ensure robustness in the presence of interference, and
some of their stuff is quite highly integrated (radio, DSP,
microcontroller, audio codec, audio amplification, power management,
battery charging, UI, in an 8X8 QFN).

That said...

You won't find their chips available anywhere, because they sell
exclusively to very large companies (Logitech, Belkin, Vizio, Best Buy,
etc.) and their ODMs. You *may* be able to buy their modules through the
secondary market. I think a better solution from an availability
standpoint is TI.
