I'm not an expert on Grub (2 or otherwise) maybe others can help.

I've used Grub 2 on Kubuntu with dual-boot Win Vista and 7 partitions, but all 
I did was to let the installer deal with it.  2 had come along before I had to 
use anything later than XP, so I can't comment on whether old Grub can do it.
