Hi Nicky, As well as what the other guys have said, consider what skills you may have that could help make up for a lack of formal on-the-job experience. You have found this group, and presumably you've done some work with Linux. Think about what technical sites you visit, whose blogs you read, what activities you've done with your own systems to get them to do what you want, whether you are the 'go-to' person who helps out others among your friends, family , community ... start building up a mental catalogue of what you are good at and enjoy doing. That will stand you in good stead and boost your confidence as you start looking at some of the approaches the other folks here have suggested.
good luck! -- best regards, Victor Churchill, Bournemouth -- Next meeting: Bournemouth, Tuesday, 2013-02-05 20:00 Meets, Mailing list, IRC, LinkedIn, ... http://dorset.lug.org.uk/ New thread on mailing list: mailto:[email protected] How to Report Bugs Effectively: http://goo.gl/4Xue
