All,
After Kubuntu 14.10 broke my Activities behaviour as I related last week, I gave
up trying to fix it and did a clean install (having taken a full backup of my
home directory). I'm pretty much up and running again, but I cannot retrieve my
message folders in Kontact.
When I first starting using KMail years ago, I recall that it put the messages
in ~/Mail. I don't seem to have that directory now! In an online forum, I
gleaned that the mailboxes are sometimes to be found in
~/.kde/share/apps/kmail2. I have that directory but no mailboxes.
So where has my mail gone? KMail was working fine before I did the
re-installation and I did a full backup. Nevertheless I cannot see where my
messages have gone. I've searched for 'mdir' and 'mbox', but found nothing.
Does anyone know what KMail currently does with messages or have any clues as
to what I should be searching for?
If anyone else uses Kontact, I'd appreciate an insight into the location of the
folders.
