Hi Rafi
How much memory and what graphic card are you using?
Looking at your issues, there maybe one issue or there maybe many, the
ISO you downloaded did you run a checksum on it to ensure it was a good
download? I would be tempted to wipe the hard disk (saving any data you
need first), format the hard disk and do the install again (with a
verified download), at least then you are starting with the solid base.
Might be worth downloading memcheck as well (bootable cd) and let it
test your memory to get that out the way.

Hi everyone, Rafi here,
After having made a complete switch to Ubuntu, a handful of problems
have turned up and I can't find any solutions online.
The issues I'm having the most are:
- Ridiculous CPU usage with nothing "proper" running: Have an Intel
i7 8-Thread, sometimes one of the cores, and only one, has a usage of
100%. I've got the propriatery Intel drivers (although the turn up under
Unknown: Unknown in additional drivers). It seems to be compiz? Restart
fixes it.
- Certain games having difficulty with fullscreen (laggy/can't
switch windows etc.), might just be non'native support.
- Firefox having problems playing HTML5 videos, the larger the
player the laggier it gets, fullscreen is deadly.
- Openshot crashing after a few minutes, using v2.4.1.
- Icons of apps showing as a question mark.
- Terminal windows became sub-windows of Mozilla Thunderbird, even
when Thunderbird was closed. Only happened once though, restart fixed it.
I'm looking for an Ubuntu Tweaks alternative, as I've seen it's been
discontinued. I'm also missing an anti-virus, any recommendations?
Thanks for your help and good advice.
Greetings,
Rafi
