Yes, the Arch Linux wiki is very useful for lots of things and
applicable to Ubuntu, etc., or at least gets you going in understanding
what's going on.  Pages on it also often appear at the top of Google's
results when Arch wasn't mentioned in the query;  it seems to be a
generally high-scored resource.
