Keith is absolutely right it's not dead, just changing into server form
at this stage.

Hailstorm dead...

With the talk that we went to this morning the concepts that Hailstorm
provided are still very much on Microsoft's radar.

So is Hailstorm Dead. I doubt very much that it is. What are they doing?
My guess (if this report is valid at all) that they are pushing it back
for a number of reasons.

People/Business's are just not ready for the idea. After a year or so of
XML Web Service adoption it will be re-introduced. And some of them will
trickle in through Microsoft products including XML Web Services like
MapPoint .NET, .NET Alerts (To me the most likely to be used today),
.NET Passport, etc.

Make sure it plays well with the new Web Service specs coming out (Like
WS-Security which was announced today by MS, IBM and Verisign)

So I look at it as the rollout will be much slower then thought.

If that was the reason, they have not learnt their lesson

Look at the price tag for the MapPoint .Net web service

$15,000 just to hook it up..then you have the usage costs to add on !!
