He did put him in the category of "elitist programmers with weblogs". That's a direct personal attack in my book - not just a critique on the original article. Buy, hey, what are a few personal insults anyway? If you want to learn real debating I can recommend this [1] by a couple of list regulars. Now that's well-reasoned, rational, scientific debate.
