Franklin, I know it's possible (as you state) to do a "blind" install using InstallSheild, however I don't have that, and for a "free" product I don't really want to spend $1200USD (that's about $3000 of my money - equivalent to about 2 weeks work) on InstallSheild.
Other issues are the download size, although I guess if I have convinced people to download the .Net framework, adding another 5-10MB to the install isn't a biggie. I think I might sit back and look closely at this - perhaps Jet is the better approach - especially as it's a one-way "replication" at best - they can download from the web in XML and save that to the db... Thanx for the info though - is all food for thought. I did notice that that oo4d or whatever it was (object database) is only 400k... Nice and small... If he can do it, I am sure you can also. As far as support of it, I believe MSDE is a very stable and you will not have any problems with it. After all, MS has been working on it for at least 8 years now I think. --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com).
