Dino,

You don't need InstallShield for MSDE. Check out
http://www.installsite.org/. Under the Windows Installer, there is a section
for merge modules, and instructions on how to use it. I have never tried
this, but I believe that the MSDE merge module should work with the VS.NET
setup project.
