Hello! Now that our new release is out, I'd like us to make the world know and appreciate our work :). As a starter I'm proposing the following:
1. start advertising in South America and in China (cool for visitors timezones :) ) 2. try to enter countries of our demo CD's, ie. Turkey, Germany, Indonesia, Greece, Vietnam For the first part we need the help of Spanish and Portuguese speaking contributors (or readers of this list). As explained formerly, the principle is to share links of tech websites that seem interesting, then decide which one are targeted taking into account their popularity and main topic. No need to write 100 articles or comments, I think 4-5 on well selected websites can be enough. Richard kindly accepted to coordinate this effort and manage visitors not to rush too much at our site! For the second part, anybody sufficiently speaking English can help. The principle is to repeat the strategy of Sergey in Poland: find a Debian user's forum for the country and post about us. Links to these Debian forums can be shared here and when we're ready, new threads should be started one by one with few days between posts. Try to tell that we're looking for translators (or other skills) and for people to advertise in the language of the country. Of course in case there is no Debian forum, try to find the closest forum available, eg. Ubuntu or Mint! Well, I think it's now time to do the job. If you're still anxious about doing what you've never imagined yourself doing one day, just reread the mail below to remember how easy it'll be and be reassured that everything will be OK – use a nickname if you're particularly shy ;). As far as I'm concerned, I'll be not much available during the coming 10 days because I'm “unfortunately” on holidays :p. I'll probably be able to read my mails but not too much more. As a result, I let you get organized and hope to find 10,000 more downloads when I'll be back ;). Cheers, JM. > Hello! > > As you may know we now have to prepare a communication campaign for > March, after the new release is out.
