Hi Denis, Yes I know and I'm currently discussing with Jiba, the upstream author, to find a way to change this. Currently the only way to find the real sense of all these shortcuts beginning with an underscore is to read the English or French PO file.
The short story is that Jiba is not very at ease with English and didn't want to have long erroneous English texts in his code. So he introduced shortcuts nearly everywhere (English can then be rewritten easily) and now it's complicated to revert shortcuts to normal text strings in his application. As we can provide him correct English texts, I'm trying to convince him to introduce in his code a translation dictionary for his shortcuts. We would then use the dictionary to produce PO files with pure English texts instead of the shortcuts. If you find the will you can go on with shortcut translation, by comparing with the English/French version. If not, wait few days and see if we can have an easier PO file. I may decide to patch the code on my own to get rid of these drawbacks. NB: I read the meaning of __fucking-arts__ and it's much more readable than you could think ;). Cheers, JM. > Hi, > > First I have a question about the underscores and I'm not really a > "putritainian" kind of person but... you will see next. > > So, the string "__fucking-arts__" must be translated. > Do I translate this literally ? > Maybe a little shocking for kids to use/see, or i need to know how > and > where that string is used maybe I'm wrong... > > Then for the underscores; if I understood it right i must be > translater > like this (lets use the same string but I don't translate the > F-word):__F-WORD-arts__ with the same underscores I mean :) . > > Then I saw that there are a lot of changes with the website, I > presume > that's why I don't have Spip anymore, and that I will be noticed when > and how I can translate the website again. > So no more spip then? > > Thank you all, and success! > Bye > > Denis. _______________________________________________ Doudoulinux-dev mailing list [email protected] https://mail.gna.org/listinfo/doudoulinux-dev
