Hello,

I've just uploaded new builds based on Squeeze, to prepare our next development
version 2011-08. I built English, French and Russian languages:

http://download.doudoulinux.org/dailybuild/

These DVD's are still supposed to be both an ISO and an IMG file (iso-hybrid)
that can be used to make a DVD or an USB key. The changes compared to the very
first build of late June are the following:

* restored the lxlauncher organization of icons
* fixed installation issues with Songwrite, which is a new upstream release,
should now work with non-Latin languages (see
http://team.doudoulinux.org/issues/280)
* configured Vmpk to make it output sound without any user action!
* fixed issues to access web pages (see http://team.doudoulinux.org/issues/290)
* restored music and video files in user's directory, for the Jukebox

Compared to Gondwana, there are several new applications:

* gnome-alsamixer, to set sound volumes (the previous tool of Gondwana isn't
maintained anymore by Gnome)
* TBO, a software to make comic books
* Marble, a possible replacement for Kgeography, I let you make your own
opinion then share with us ;) (see http://team.doudoulinux.org/issues/141)
* Cheese, to make (distorted ;) ) photos from your webcam
* Vmpk, a replacement for vkeybd
* Jokosher, an audio composition application (aka. sound tracker)

As the “CD” size is quite huge (900MB!), we'll probably need to remove some
software and repackage some other ones in order to decrease their required
space on disk. There are also still known issues:

* some icons are missing (see http://team.doudoulinux.org/issues/328), some
others are not in the correct category
* vkeybd, kpoker, gnometris and same-gnome still have an icon but aren't
available anymore
* exit dialog in advanced sessions is proposing useless options (suspend,
hibernate, etc.)
* CD boot is no more graphical (see http://team.doudoulinux.org/issues/88)
* etc.

I invite you to give it a try, comment, fill bug reports, propose improvements,
etc.

Cheers,
JM.
