Hello,

I've uploaded new English, French and Spanish builds based on Debian Squeeze. A
Russian build will be uploaded quite soon, as well as another Spanish build
that should fix an issue with Songwrite. We are now very close to the final
release 2011-08 due to the end of the month. I invite you to give it a try:

Compared to the version of early August, the changes are the following:

* fixed many issues with icons
* removed unneeded options while quiting advanced activities (suspend,
hibernate, etc.)
* really fixed Internet access issue this time ;) [1]
* fixed printing issue [2]
* fixed missing help for KDE apps [3]
* backported several application patches from Gondwana
* fixed Songwrite crash for languages non English nor French [4]
* fixed missing dictionaries for OpenDict [5]
* fixed liveusb-write for iso-hybrid images [6] (note that iso-hybrid written
onto USB key may not work on all computers [7] unlike standard USB images)
* fixed Childsplay asking a user name at start [8]
* fixed volume control applet not changing Master mono [9]

Thanks Sergey to have reported many issues that are now fixed. Please note that
some changes have only been made in the most advanced activity (Whole DDL), and
still need to be propagated to the other activities.

Additionally, new softwares have been added and one removed:

* added tanglet, a Boggle® like game in which you have to make words from
random series of letters [10]
* added Kigo, a Go game [11]
* added gmchess, a Xiangqi game (Chinese chess) [11]
* added gtans, a tangram game [11]
* removed gnome-alsamixer since the Gnome audio mixer has finally just changed
of package and had just its icon not shown in DDL :)

Finally there are remaining issues:

* the boot is not graphical anymore, it won't be fixed before the end of the
year in my opinion for technical reasons [12]
* changes to Childsplay and TuxPaint need to be ported to other activities
* Gcompris is not correctly configured in basic activities, most likely due to
changes in their configuration files
* etc.?

Although the work done is rather satisfying [13][14], I still need to delay
many tasks that were planned for this release. I take this opportunity to
recall that there are tasks that have not been progressing for a while
(documentation, graphics, CD home page, etc.). It would be cool to go back to
these stuffs ;). And I still need someone to manage translations for the whole
project, particularly upstream contacts (so someone at ease enough with
English, and having preferably some knowledge of foreign languages).

All the best,
JM.
