Hello!

You may have forgotten that we are supposed to publish a new development
release of DDL, based on Debian Squeeze. Although I didn't tell much
about the ongoing work during the last weeks (for sure, I hadn't found
much time to work on it until a week ago), it's now progressing slowly
but surely!

So I started to upload new dailybuilds, see the new real-time dailybuild
page [1]. Indeed this new page is the old one! Now that the new one has
moved to Spip [2], its content is captured every night and is then not
totally up to date.

With dailybuilds, I mainly need people test the new animated boot screen
software on as many computers as possible. Some people say it doesn't
work on many various hardware, we have to make our own opinion. I also
need people to test the new feature of the activities menu: if you
select only one activity in the tool that changes this menu, this should
activate auto login (= no more activities menu). Cool for older children
or classrooms.

I recall you that there are currently 4 applications installed with the
objective of teaching children programming. This is too much options, we
need one or two apps at most in the end, depending on how similar or not
they are. So please test these apps and report your feelings!

Concerning the schedule, currently I've started the following tasks:

* Replace Splashy with Plymouth, or not… [3], see message [4]
* Verbiste can now conjugate Italian verbs [5]
* Remove Tanglet from Mini DoudouLinux [6]
* Request for inclusion: pixfrogger [7]
* Restore the final Debian repository URL [8]
* Provide TBO packages for Squeeze [9]
* Look at Debian Jr. offer for learning programming [10]
* Provide better blocking lists to Epiphany [11]
* Host a search engine cleaning page [12]
* Auto login when there is only one activity in the menu [13]
* Make a Debian source repository [14]
* Transifex resource for Gnome volume control and sound recorder [15],
see [16]
* Totem cannot play more than one MIDI file [17]
* Childsplay is not run fullscreen anymore [18]
* Some apps produce no sound [19]

All them may not be ready for the end of the month. Note that I'd be
surprised if 2011-11 is finally out in November! :) However I don't want
its development to last too long since our first 3 ARMâ„¢ laptops are here
now :).
