Hello, > Send me your text, I will > translate it in Dutch for Wikimedia NL :)
Thanks I'll send you a private email then. > I make two (non official) poster for the stands and event. ( > http://doudoulinux.be/communication/posters/ ) > There are not approved by the team (ALPHA status). Graphics designers wanted! I think the documents should be more attractive visually, but this requires someone with the right skills to do the job :). > All the documents are in http://doudoulinux.be/communication/ > (Attention : You need to install some fonts, all fonts are in > http://doudoulinux.be/communication/fonts ) At first glance the content structure is good and the spirit well fitting. However I fear you don't insist much on the differences between DDL and other OS'es, dedicated to kids or not, Mac OS and Windows included. What I think is missing: * words about artistic activities shipping within DDL * words about digital contents (with free licenses ;) ) * better emphasize the ease of use (no dropping menu, single click, no (re)movable icon on desktop, no popup, no password, no system cleanup required, zero-admin, no additional download required, no regular update required, etc.) * better emphasize the safety (no easy access to local data, no malware, no chat on the Internet, etc.) I also think you should not speak about the standard LXDE session at all because using it is not the intent of DDL, even if it is silently shipping along with other sessions. For older children and parents, this is “Whole DDL”, that's all! The objective is to use a smartphone-like interface. > If we don't have the stand I will putting up some posters of the > hiring campaing : > http://doudoulinux.be/communication/documents/campaign-volunteer-bootsplashscreen-v1-BETA-EN.odt > Who try nothing have nothing. Please review my text ! I don't think speaking in name of the association is required for this poster. The DDL project is hiring, no need to take part to the association. I suggest to just mention that the DDL project is backed by an association in the footer. Also don't limit the wanted skills: we also need *any* kind of artistic skills, plus any kind of communication/management skill, maybe some others. I also propose you highlight the fact that we want DDL to run on any computer, from the smallest devices to the largest ones, and be in any language (this is not a country-specific project). Tell few words about the ARM port which is going fast these days (I'm about to publish a blog post about this). Please also insist on our partnership with Debian and Genesi (the same applies for the other documents). > Don't panic, in Belgium we have an other (great public) event : the > REWICS... > I will begin to take contacts. Indeed the game is not over yet, seen today on the page “Call For Stands” [1]: “Deadline reached, no submissions are accepted anymore. Submitted proposals are still under review.” Fayçal says we'll have a stand anyway, may he be right ;). I think we should contact both Genesi and Debian to see if they'd like to show DDL on their stands too, if they have one (Debian I'm pretty sure yes). [1] http://fosdem.org/2012/call-for-stands Thank you for your great work, and please don't be impressed by the quantity of comments I made ;). Cheers, JM. _______________________________________________ Doudoulinux-dev mailing list [email protected] https://mail.gna.org/listinfo/doudoulinux-dev
