Hello, 1. I can write article related to video manual of editing PO-files using POEdit. Think it will go to Contribute/Translate DoudouLinux after The translation job. Please confirm.
2. As for obsolete images I think it's hard to do for a single person due to many languages involved. I found out the following: a. Start screen (selection of persistence mode) b. activities menu c. vkeybd screenshot I replaced it at appropriate Russian pages. 3. Special thanks to PureTech for Laporav TV Tomsk translation! 4. Christophe welcome aboard! Wish you a lot of patience with your huge assignment and feel free to involve me! 5. Yulia presented DDL at Moscow Science Festival and the system caused considerable interest BUT no CDRom run at notebooks they have. She promised to write a news in the event by the end of week. We had similar weird problem during presentation at TSPU for colleagues from Berlin. DDL does not detected any monitor! And therefore refused to find any external video device :( I think we should collect info on usage of DDL at notebooks, especially modern ones and with projectors connected. 6. I translate French DoudouLinux article in Russian <http://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/DoudouLinux> and suppose to finish this week. no one still wants to delete it happily! Cheers, Sergey Komkov DoudouLinux project Co-ordinator -----Original Message----- From: doudoulinux-dev-boun...@gna.org [mailto:doudoulinux-dev-boun...@gna.org] On Behalf Of phili...@free.fr Sent: Monday, October 17, 2011 8:23 PM To: doudoulinux-dev; doudoulinux-docs; doudoulinux-graphics; doudoulinux-lang Subject: [Doudoulinux-dev] DDL newsletter - 2011-10-17 Hello! This week most of the work was focused on our website. We also welcomed a new contributor who wants to help us contribute to upstream projects with translations. This is a great opportunity to make our project known and appreciated for the benefit it provides to its upstream projects (larger audience + contributions). NB: I'll give you information about our next releases quite soon. All the best, JM. PS: if you think that I forgot to mention an important news, feel free to answer this mail with your scoop! Team ===== * Christophe Henry joined the team to organize the way our project contributes back to upstream projects with its translations [1]. With ~ 50 resources Ч 26 languages = 1300 potential files to contribute back, this is really a task that was lacking a volunteer! He'll also help Elisa and I maintain the French language. Welcome to our project! [1] https://mail.gna.org/public/doudoulinux-lang/2011-10/msg00011.html Organization =========== * I tried to probe for an IRC meeting schedule [1], but nobody seems to be interested :(. * How to list your tickets on Redmine? You can display a list of your activities by clicking the button “Activity” on your personal page. For example my list of activities is: http://team.doudoulinux.org/activity?user_id=5 Yes I'm user #5. An Atom feed link is available as well if you've disabled email alerts. I think we should have documentation pages about Redmine on our website. Any volunteer? * Redmine: there are still tickets to be moved from our former project management software Gna [3]. Please move/close the tickets you're owning, unless their history is huge. [1] https://mail.gna.org/public/doudoulinux-dev/2011-10/msg00038.html Translations ============ * Many translations submitted on Transifex for Latvian (Hackey), Norwegian Bokmal (Ehtele), Portuguese PT (WilsonMint), Russian (Sergey) and Telugu (Praveen). * I copied Ehtele's video on a new media section for videos [1]. Who to write an article using this video? [1] http://media.doudoulinux.org/videos/translating-doudoulinux.m4v CDROM ====== * Gaurav started to dive into the TBO's bug that block the application when the user empties the text of a text object. Graphics ======== * No news. Website ======= * I updated our section “Translate DDL” [1]. Sergey ported changes to Russian, I ported them to French. * I wrote a script to fix the Transifex translation charts in pages of section “Translation status” [2]. This script runs every night to fix the static copy of our website, it has *no* effect on Spip pages. If you're curious about seeing some scripts that make our website run, go and look at our SVN repository [3], we don't hide much things indeed :). * New entry in our FAQ about the unavailability of Flash [4]. Please port the changes to your language! * Our first Portuguese pages are out! [5] (Flavio and Salvatore). News wanted to announce them on our website, any volunteer? * New page “Official website and work copy” [6] to be translated *only* if you have translated enough of the contribute section into your language. * PureTech is still highly active and published: “Menjana DoudouLinux dalam bahasa lain”, “Sekilas pandang”, “Laporan TV Tomsk”, “Asal-usul DoudouLinux”, “Hala tuju DoudouLinux”, “FAQ pembangun”. * There are a lot of obsolete screenshots in our pages. Who would agree to update them on Spip? Maybe we'll know more soon?
