Hello!

This week was full of amazing news, not because 2011-11 is out, since
it's not ready for publication yet ;). But because our project is
welcoming a new developer, Kishor, because Gérald had Gnome run on
Genesi smartbooks and because the DDL non-profit organization is
officially launched.

All the best,
JM.

PS: if you think that I forgot to mention an important news, feel free
to answer this mail with your scoop!

Team
=====

* Kishor asked to join the developer's team. He's a friend of Gaurav
and will dive into our project with his help.
* Shredder121 asked to join the Dutch team.
* Yaron asked to create a Hebrew team.

They're already at work. Welcome to our project!

Organization
===========

* Our non-profit organization is now legally existing [1]. This is
really great news since this means we can open a bank account and start
to ask for donations :). I still have to make a page on our website
telling about this association and its role. An IRC meeting is to be
programmed on this topic.

Translations
============

* Many translations were submitted on Transifex for Dutch (Shredder),
Greek (Kvisitor), Hebrew (Yaron), Spanish (Yago), Telugu (Praveen) and
Ukrainian (Dark_blood).

Development
===========

* The new development release is about to be published [1].

* Gérald had Debian/Squeeze/armel running on Genesi smartbooks with
Gnome [2]. This is great news since this means we can now really start
to port DDL on ARM :). Gérald will put his work on SVN and write
documentation for the developer's team. On my side I have to move as
many DDL tricks as possible into standard Debian packages to make this
independent of the target platform and system (Live or not,
x86/ARM/etc.).

* Gaurav is back to our project and looking at TBO's bug [3]. Kishor will
work with him on the time limit topic [4].

* New dailybuilds of 2011-11 are available [5]. Please fetch one of them,
test and report!

Artwork
=======

* I quickly made a slightly animated boot for our development release
[1]. If you're curious about it, just download the latest dailybuilds
;).

Website
=======

* The algorithm to automatically put online the nighly snapshot of our
website work copy (Spip) [1][2] is now activated. Unless it is disabled
because our documentation is being heavily updated, your work will now
go automatically online around 03:00 GMT every night.

* Xavier reported mirrors download stats for November [3]. I answered
with the total for mirrors + main site, since Gondwana 1.1 is out: more
than 33,000 CD's :).

Communication
=============

* We now have a Diaspora, a Google+ and a Facebook account. If you want
to launch another account, please follow Identi.ca [1], our dev's blog
[2] and our website news to feed the account. I cannot post everywhere
every time ;).

* I recall that Salvatore launched the translation of our Wikipedia
article into English [3]. The idea is to split the effort among several
translators who understand Latin languages. Unfortunately we're still
lacking of volunteers :(.

* Salvatore is still monitoring our DistroWatch ranking [4].

=======

* Someone asked how to install the Gimp.

* Someone else asked how to install on HD.
