Hi Monty, > What do you think about this: > ... > Comments anyone? Bad or good?
Good: * I like that the 'clock' doesn't have a border and the menu & button use the same color as the clock. I'm also fond of the 'together' type look and feel of it, it's no longer bordered apart from itself with edges throughout. * I like that the help button is now a 'run-in' color with no edge. This might be hard for new users to figure out though. Bad: * I'm not fond of not having borders around the the 'textbox' when it's "active" - I think it's important to have either a bevel there or at least a single-pixel edge - but only when active. * The outer-border around the entire toolbar is a bit distracting. Do XP toolbars have this type of border for them (I gave up on XP after only a few weeks after a rash of security issues). It would drive me nuts. * When the help button is depressed the select-region on the button is awful. It makes it look like a half-dozen vertical stripes in a blender (at least on my system). I think a good look for the textbox would be the image background style with a shaded top and left edge. I've attached a sample image that can be used as "background: url(bg-light.gif);" in the style for .txtfld (IIRC). It's not suitable as-is (since the size would not work on my own system, for starters), but it's a thought. It'd need a left border as well and need to be at least 480px wide. > Careful with too much customization, what if I run > my dual screens at 1600x1200 with fonts set at 175% > of "normal"? Hey Paul, how did you know my system config? ;) Regards, Shawn K.
