Hey Brent,

I'd suggest Process Explorer from SysInternals:

http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/ProcessExplorer.html

It can be used as a Task Manager replacement, and pretty useful in
understanding which DLL is in use by which process. If you do a
"Find DLL" (Ctrl-E) after starting it up and type "dqsd" as the search
substring, you should be able to find the DQSD dlls in use by
explorer.exe(?).

One thing to note here though, if the target DLL is in-use by a process when
you ran the compiler, it may be possible that the
linker could not generate (write out) the DLL with your changes. There are no
errors reported by the compilation process, right?

I'm not all that familiar with CVS yet, so I couldn't find the
"VersionIndependentProgID" for the DLL/Typelib yet, but from a quick
search, the "(Default)" value in the following registry key would be pointing
to the DLL to be used for Deskband CoClass I guess:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{EC9FE983-E520-4D8F-B1A7-ACBCA0439C70}\InprocServer32

Disclaimer: :) I've found that GUID from a file in "Attic" so it may have been
from an earlier version/design and not valid at this
time. The surefire method (when you have DQSD running) would be the Process
Explorer method above.

Thanks,

 Ozgur
