Oh, cool, I didn't know. Then it should definitely be possible to cook
up a Vista-specific search.htm and run it as a gadget.

But on the whole, I think the "architecture" of DQSD is kinda doomed.
For an input box in your deskbar, it's incredibly complex. Sweet and
extensible, yes, but also error-prone and tightly dependent on any
whim of the IE team.

Ideally, I'd like to get IE out of the picture entirely, except
possibly for launching searches.

I'm just sick of having to adapt to platform changes every year.
