the other possibility for Paul's problem is that he is actually using
myprefs.js.

if he is using myprefs.js rather than localprefs.js then the new install
which would put in the standard preferences.js would default to looking for
localprefs.js rather than myprefs.js.  if this is the case rename your
myprefs.js to localprefs.js.

Paul also asked where is the upgrade button... if only it were that easy.
by upgrade we mean... close tool bar, logoff/on, install newer version
(uninstall should not be necessary) and open the toolbar.
