I see 5 features that are really worth replicating:
1) the miniviewer, by far the most important to me
2) configuration dialog--in my opinion it's a must
that it should allow you to easily enable/disable
searches
3) snappy performance
4) the installer--actually how clean it is
5) shortcuts

at the moment dsdq is vastly superior to gg's deskbar,
due to variety of open searches and extensibility, but
gg's engineers won't take long to bridge the gap and
add useful features based on lots of user input.
