Hi gang,

I'm working on getting my DF up on it's gear. I have the gold anodized
Wicks/Cleveland style axles. These are designed to bolt onto the gear with
four bolts. All of this is happy, but when I try to thread the large nut
onto the axle it goes on about 1/4" inch and then becomes very hard to turn.

Are these MS axle bolts & aluminum axles designed to be a little cross
threaded? I don't want to just tighten down the nut, because I'm concerned
that it will damage the axle. It is almost like the pitch of the nut is a
little different than the pitch of the axle. I looked at the Wicks catalog
and the part numbers for the axles and nuts are correct.

Any ideas?

Kevin
