Yes, the new layup requires more tape.  The DBFN included the details on
the new layup about a year ago.  I'd definitely say that anyone who has not
already built the wing/canard should use the new layup.  The DBFN article
includes the amount of extra carbon needed, or you can call Viking.

I don't know if you really need to deepen the spar much - my depression had
plenty of space for more carbon - the carbon is INSANELY thin.  I'd say go
by whatever it says in the article.
