INSANELY is right! I wanted to satisfy my curiosity some time ago, so I did
a 10-layer carbon fiber lay-up to figure out the thickness of one layer
after it has been epoxied. I got around 3/32" for 10 layers, which is just
over .009" per layer. That's a very rough estimate since my squeegeeing
proficiency still leaves a lot to be desired, nevertheless, this
demonstrates how thin the stuff really is.
