All she could remember was taking an axe blade to
the side her ribs breaking and a gash opening up spilling blood down her side
her leather armor helped stop her from spilling her guts as it took a major
portion of the blow. Yet she had the satisfaction of gutting Bucko the bartender
and watching him dropp toppling the bar as he did. She knew it was time to get
out but in her hurry to go through the kitchen she was attacked from 2 sides
heading out the back door. Taking another blow to the upper arm from yet another
axe, and it was the one that Bucko hit with his hammer her body fell down the
reamaing couple of steps to land face first on the ground. Lifeless her spirit
looks upon her body from above.....
Carine lay on the ground under a make shift leento
outside the broken Inn. Angus a myst guard that she had befriended had
dragged her lifeless body away from the fight, and once all had settled
down he set her on the ground in the hopes of saving her life.
Angus had dabbled in the magics of healing, but
wasn't as adversed in it as other the guard being his lively hood he attempted
to save Carine's life she was barely breathing and the blood was slowly stopping
it's oozing from her side and arm, but it was because her lifes blood was almost
gone. The night passed slowly as angus prayed to the gods as he worked his minor
spells. None paid attention to his ministerings as others all around did the
same. Guards all around tended to the wounded or started taking care of the
dead.
The Inn was damaged heavily but there could still
be some use of it while repairs went on.
Angus watched Carine's body as her breathes were
shallow and long in between her pulse was barely felt as she held tenaciously
onto life. The sun was starting to breach the horizon as men and women worked to
help those in need. Angus prayed more help would soon come for his work may have
stayed deaths hand, but did not waken Carine.
Morning slowly broke into day as Angus waited
parying and hearing the sounds of th injured and dieing about
him........
Her spirit stayed with her but for how
long............
